Old furnace Gaiero

It is an ancient plant of the nineteenth century with a ring oven, the so-called Hoffmann continuous kiln for the continuous production of bricks and ceramic goods.
The owner of the furnace preserves the most complete collection of iron tools and machinery used in the past and original wooden moulds among which those drawn by architect Schellino for his neo-gothic and eclectic works.

On site, you can find a large outdoor area with relics of the time and the quarry where clay for the productions of bricks was extracted. The high chimney has been completely restored while the whole building, called the Cathedral for its big large, is in very bad condition.
The furnace remains however a historical and cultural place of Dogliani.
